A Few More Details

From unusually small berries, the 2018 Cab from Red Willow Vineyard is an intense, concentrated wine with a backbone of tannins that, three years in bottle, have begun to integrate enough to show an approachable wine. This is a wine that will relax over time, developing finesse and suppleness for years to come.

Tasting Notes

Expect rich aromas of roasted coffee bean, cedar, raspberry, graphite, and black cherry. On the palate, it is bold and stylish with flavors of raspberry, black cherry, and boysenberry. These fruit notes are complemented by earthy undertones, crushed rock, tobacco, graphite, and dried herbs. The wine has refined tannins that add nice weight to the finish, making it well-built and balanced.

This wine will pair wonderfully with dishes such as steak, brisket, grilled mushroom dishes, hearty cheeses, and burgers.

About: Straight from them to you!

Meet Darby English, the man behind the wine:

“I am a 1st generation Washington grown winemaker and proud 20+ year resident of the incomparable West Seattle. My passion lies in the Rhone varietals, think Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne; but I enjoy making a killer Cabernet and Cabernet blends.

I believe in low intervention and minimalistic wine making; and I believe in winemaking as an art form, not just by the numbers. I believe in starting with the best fruit, and I don’t compromise on fruit quality so I put a lot of of energy into sourcing fruit from the best vineyards in WA for the specific varietals that I want to work with, fruit that has a sense of place. I love and believe in Washington wine.”
