CHERISHING THE LAND THROUGH SUSTAINABLE FARMING: “As a fourth-generation grape grower in Burgundy, I know the importance of caring for the land. If you nurture it, it will reward you.”

The home of Domaine Divio, selected by winemaker Bruno Corneaux as he believes it offers the best terroir from which to make the perfect Pinot Noir. From the air it appears as an island that has broken off from surrounding landmasses. Willakenzie marine sedimentary soil is relatively uniform throughout the AVA and the lack of underground water limits vigorous vine growth

Tasting Notes

An inviting nose of black tea, rose petals and baking spice. The palate is warm and gentle, with a finish showing great acidity with firm tannins.

Food Pairing

  • Pair the 2022 Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir with roast duck, wild mushroom dishes, or herb-roasted salmon to highlight its dark fruit, earthy spice, and silky texture.

Our Philosophy

“If I had stayed in Burgundy to make wine, I would be boarding a train that was already in motion. Here in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, I’m helping lay down the tracks.” – Bruno Corneaux, Winemaker and Proprietor

The combined spirit of Oregon innovation and French tradition has driven the Domaine Divio dream from the outset. Our philosophy is rooted in making minimal intervention wines that showcase the terroir of the Willamette Valley while respecting the land through sustainable and biodynamic farming techniques.

“Terroir consists of all the factors pertaining to a particular site that, when taken together as a whole, determine the level of potential wine quality that has nothing to do with the skills of the winemaker.” – Bruno Corneaux, Winemaker and Proprietor

Once Bruno, Isabelle and André had decided that the Willamette Valley would be the perfect place to forge their dream of making the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, they started looking for a piece of land that had the most similarities to Bruno’s home of Meloisey in Burgundy, France. It quickly became evident that the Ribbon Ridge AVA checked all these boxes. In 2014 the Clos Gallia property was purchased and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines were planted.

Tasting Notes

Spiced pear and yellow apple highlight this amazingly aromatic wine. Hints of caramel add a richness along with notes of tropical and star fruits. Mouth filling, yet light on its feet, the wine exhibits a weighty quality but is well-balanced with refreshing acidity. Flavors of pear and gravenstein apple mix with hints of jasmine tea. The elegant finish is rounded out with a sensation of crushed rocks and minerals.

Food Pairing

  • Pair the 2023 Coelho Winery Chardonnay (Willamette Valley) with butter-poached halibut, roast chicken with lemon and herbs, or creamy pasta with mushrooms to complement its bright acidity, orchard fruit, and subtle oak.

From them to you:

WE’RE ALL IN: Each one of the handful of people working at our winery has been involved in some part of the bottle you pour today. From cultivation to harvest, from production to quality control, from the bottle to the glass. We need to be connected to every element of its creation. A bottle of wine is not simply a beverage. When you open a bottle, whether at a celebration or during a moment of quiet contemplation, it creates a unique moment forever tied to that bottle of wine.
